Meet the Doctors and Staff at North Channel Animal Hospital

NCAH_Dr._Bordeau_1.jpgDr. Stephanie Bordeau

Dr. Bordeau is the managing doctor at North Channel Animal Hospital.

She graduated from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. She also obtained her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science at Texas A&M. Dr. Bordeau did her externship at Almeda East Veterinary Hospital in Aurora, Colorado

where they filmed Animal Planet’s “Emergency Vets”. She followed around Kevin Fitzgerald and Dr. Steinheimer and has a few stories to tell. She was offered an internship following graduation at Almeda East. Dr. Bordeau also received the Gentle Doctor award from Texas A&M in 2002.   She is also USDA accredited.

Dr. Bordeau is married to her husband Chad and has three children Julie, Justin, and Jack that

occupy most of her time. Dr. B currently has one cat, Willie, that helps run the household.

However, she loves to play racquetball, volleyball, and softball as often as she can and listen to Clay Walker.

Jennifer A. Keene, DVM started at North Channel Animal Hospital in June 2009.  She attended Texas A&M University where she achieved her Bachelor of Science and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2007.  Dr. Keene was born and raised in Baytown, Texas until she moved to College Station to attend school.  She currently lives in Crosby, TX with her husband Alan, two beautiful children,Georgia and Grant, two dogs and one three-legged cat.  In her spare time, Dr. Keene enjoys spending time with her family, being a youth leader in her church, designing custom announcements and invitations, and beating Dr. Bordeau at racquetball.

Beci Largent started as our hospital manager in February 2010.  Prior to North Channel Animal Hospital, Beci worked many years as an Office Administrator, Administrator Assistant to the president of a company and bookkeeper. 

Now at North Channel Animal Hospital she has the daily challenge of overseeing the day to day management of the hospital.  She enjoys networking with the other clinic managers to find ideas on how to continually improve North Channel Animal Hospital.  Her goal is to ensure that North Channel Animal Hospital provides the best patient care and customer service.

In her spare time she enjoys gardening, working on DIY projects, sewing and recently started learning auto upholstery.  Beci and her husband are empty nesters, enjoy spending time with two teenage granddaughters and a great nephew.

Jeanette_Guerrero.jpgJeanette Guerrero

Jeanette started at North Channel Animal Hospital in May 2007. What she likes best about working here
is that we are all like a big family.  She started working in the kennel then moved up to Vet Technician and is currently a member of the Front Desk staff.  She is well educated in every department of the hospital.  She is a mother of three beautiful children and has a little rascal puppy named Kevin.  She has lived in Houston, Texas her entire life.

Katherine joined the NCAH family in Sept 2008.  She enjoys interacting with all of the different pets and
seeing their different personalities.  Katherine has an 8 year old Bichon Frise named Princess that
she has had since she was a puppy.  Princess grew up with Katherine from junior high school and now her two lovely sons are growing up with her.  In Katherine's spare time, she enjoys being with her family, shopping and watching the Houston Texans.

Misty has had a love for animals ever since she was a little girl.  She started in this field 10 years ago and continued to train as a veterinary technician. 

Misty joined North Channel Animal Hospital Sept 2006 and is now our lead technician.  Misty enjoys the challenges and rewards of working in a veterinary hospital, especially assisting with the surgeries and the dentals.  She has a special spot in her heart for cocker spaniels puppies.

Misty is recently married with their first child on the way.  In her spare time she likes to work on her scrapbooks and sleeping.

Ginger_Dowdy.jpgGinger Dowdy

Ginger graduated from HCC's Veterinary Paramedic program in 2004. She has loved animals all her life and was thrilled to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. During her training she got to volunteer at places like CAPS and the Houston Zoo. Volunteering at CAPS open her eyes to the overpopulation of puppies and kittens in the Houston area. She firmly believes in the spaying and neutering program at NCAH. Preventing unwanted pregnancies will help to reduce abandoned, abusedand neglected puppies and kittens. Ginger has worked at NCAH for over two years and loves to help the doctors during surgery, making sure our clients pets are healthy by performing routine lab work, and playing with all our clients’ pets when they come in.

Ginger has been married to her wonderful and supportive husband Glyn for 21 years. Together they have 4 great kids, Noah, Samantha, Sara and Wallace, 1 beautiful granddaughter Maykayla, 2 dogs, Ares and Larry, and 1 cat named Fayte.

Brian_Hodges.jpgBrian Hodges

Brian Hodges is a Veterinary Technician.  He has been with North Channel Animal Hospital since June 2008. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science at Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, TX.

Brian enjoys working at North Channel Animal Hospital and having the opportunity to work with all of the different animals that come into the clinic.  Brian has a lovable black lab named J.J. that keeps him busy.  When I am not at work, I am usually at home or hanging out with friends.




Hospital Cats


George.jpgGeorge - Head dust bunny creator.  His main job is to make sure our towels remain fluffy and playing hide & seek.








Nala.jpgNala - Nala joined North Channel Animal Hospital as an injured stray.  She came to us with head trauma so she stares at you with a permanent head tilt.  She loves to greet all large dogs in the lobby then run in circles.








Winky.jpgWinky -Winky joined North Channel Animal Hospital as a kitten with a large corneal ulcer.  He seemed to always “wink” at all the clients.  His main job is muzzle patrol, head instigator, and treat taster quality-control taster.













Heifer.jpgHeifer
- Heifer came to North Channel Animal Hospital expecting.  She delivered adorable kittens who all found wonderful homes.  She too is available for adoption to a loving home.  Her favorite past times are eating, sleeping and begging for more food.
